Barry Landry, Instructor
Barry has been a professional writer, filmmaker, and certificated teacher at various points in his career since graduating with honors from UC Santa Barbara.

He has completed successful campaigns with both agency and corporate companies like Disney, Nero, Tahoe Visitors Bureau, UCLA, EarthLink, Motive Interactive, and Salesforce.com. In addition to his experience with integrated writing and editing, he has written and published more than fifty articles for publications like Reno magazine, Scene magazine, TAHOE quarterly, and the Times-Picayune newspaper, where he covered the film, television, and theater communities of Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New Orleans.

He enjoyed more than five years as an independent filmmaker, writing, directing, and producing festival-circuit films, including a New Orleans Film Festival honoree. He has sold pitch-concepts to High Seas Entertainment, Rocket Science Productions, and Fort Mason Films, including a pilot-production concept for USA Network.

As a filmmaker, Barry worked for more than two years towards his qualifying credentials as a Directors Guild of America member before being recruited by Teach for America as a corps member, helping struggling school districts in and around New Orleans to transition from poor to excellent school ratings. He fell in love with teaching and has been creatively engaging students in their education ever since.
