Caring for Kids is partnering with Serenity House and the Port Angeles School District to provide Christmas gifts for over 70 kids! Please consider donating by Friday, Dec 17, as we work to bring joy and hope to those families in our community that need some extra help and love.
The referral window for the identification process for Port Angeles School District's Highly Capable program is now open! Annually, we put out extra effort to identify gifted learners, known as Highly Capable students. The Highly Capable program is for students who may have talents and needs beyond the scope of the general classroom environment. Parents and educators recognize that all children and students have unique skills and strive to meet their needs through various curriculum and learning activities within the general classroom.
As we start the holiday season, I want to take a moment and send out a heartfelt word of thanks and wish you and your loved ones a happy and safe holiday celebration. On behalf of our Board of Directors and District leaders, we want to express our appreciation for the continued dedication of our school administrators, teachers, support staff, parents, and guardians. Your commitment to our students and care for one another has allowed us to continue our mission to support student success through these uncharted times.

Live Theater is Back! Into the Woods
Live theater is back! The Port Angeles Theatre Department, in partnership with the Music Department, presents Into the Woods, directed by Mark Valentine. It is both a light-hearted romp and a cautionary tale. Characters such as Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack (of "Jack and the Beanstalk" fame), Little Red Riding Hood, the Wolf, the Witch, the Princes, the Princesses, the Baker, the Baker's Wife, and many others all meet up on their various journeys into the woods. The music is very much a part of the narrative and is almost continuous.
