Homecoming 2022 is jam-packed with special events that pay tribute to Port Angeles' traditions and unite the Port Angeles Community. "Homecoming is a special time on campus every year," said Tanner Zahrt, Principal of Port Angeles High School. "Students get a chance to see what it's like to come together and celebrate the Roughrider spirit."

The traditional festivities are back in play with COVID restrictions in the rearview mirror. PAHS will celebrate homecoming with a series of events starting Monday, October 3, and culminate with the homecoming dance on Saturday, October 8, at the high school gym from 8pm to 11pm. This year's spirit week includes daily dress-up days and themes, carriage races, buff puff games, lip sync battles, and a pep assembly on Friday, October 7.

The homecoming parade will take place Friday, October 7, with floats from each class, athletic teams, and student clubs. Students will gather at the Courthouse at 5pm, and the parade starts at 5:15pm. Kick-off is at 6:30pm for the homecoming game against the Bremerton Knights. The homecoming court will be recognized during the halftime show.

When students were asked what they were looking forward to the most about homecoming, Freshman Molly Beeman said, "I can't wait to have a fun experience with my friends. Dances like these are often portrayed as something with many good memories in movies. This will be my first homecoming, and I'm so excited!"

Taylor Cochran, a Junior on the planning committee, shared, "I'm looking forward to having my first indoor high school dance. I'm excited to see our hard work pay off." Nason Martinez, a Senior, said he looked forward to, "the crowning of the king and queen."
