PAHS Graduation Requirements

PAHS Requirements for a Diploma: for classes 2019 and 2020.
A minimum of 22.5 credits are required for graduation.
- 3.0 credits in math which must include Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, or their equivalents. For additional information, see the Mathematics section of the Program of Studies.
- 3.0 credits in Social Sciences which must include: 1.0 credit in Social Studies electives, World History and/or Native American Studies; 1.0 in U.S. History; 1.0 in Contemporary Issues. (If the Washington State History requirement is not fulfilled in middle school Native American Studies is required.)
- 1.0 credit in Fine Arts
- 2.0 credits in Science
- 4.0 credits in English with no more than one credit in production courses
- 1.5 credits in Physical Education / Health & .5 credit in Health
- 1.0 credit in Career and Technical subjects
- 6.5 Elective credits (2017 and 2018)
Pass all required state tests in Reading, Writing, Math and Science
Craft a high school and beyond plan ~ Students must detail their plan for meeting the high school graduation requirements and what they expect to do the year after graduation.

A minimum of 24.0 credits are required for graduation.

- 3.0 credits in Social Sciences which must include: 1.0 credit in Social Studies electives, World History and/or Native American Studies; 1.0 in U.S. History; 1.0 in Contemporary Issues. Beginning with the class of 2008, all Washington State graduates must also fulfill the following requirements:
Earn a Certificate of Academic Achievement
Beginning with the class of 2008, students graduating from public high schools in Washington must earn the Certificate of Academic Achievement by demonstrating achievement of the 10thgrade reading, writing and math standards on the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) by the end of high school. Science will be added to the certificate’s requirements for the class of 2010. The certificate helps ensure that all students – not just the college bound – have the basic skills needed to succeed after high school, regardless of where their families live, how much money they have, or what language they speak.
Craft a high school and beyond plan
Students must detail their plan for meeting the high school graduation requirements and what they expect to do the year after graduation. Use the attached link to complete the plan online. This is REQUIRED for graduation.
